Bozeman is the 24th-fastest growing county in the country and is likely to add thousands of people over the next decade.  This growth raises concerns about water supply and the need for water conservation strategies.  Through the practice of xeriscaping, water-efficient fixtures and appliances, and water re-use, home water use can be reduced by upwards of 25%!

Here's what we can do to make your building more efficient:
  • Use low flow water fixtures including dual flush toilets.
  • Use on demand hot water heating systems that generate hot water with no delay.
  • Use front loading reduced water capacity washing machines.

Here's how xeriscaping works:
  • Use natives plants from the local ecosystem.
  • Use rock mulch and bark chips instead of Kentucky blue grass.
  • Use drip irrigation systems instead of spray head systems.

Here's how water re-use works:
  • Collect and store rain water for irrigation using cisterns off of roofs.
  • Save grey water for watering plants indoors.
  • Create catch basins in your landscape design for future water use on site.
